Hey lovelies!
I'm back again with another review, this time of the Z1 Foundation Serum*.
I was kindly sent a sample size from Hashtag Blogger (Insta: @htblogger).

I've currently been testing this product out for the last two weeks and I have to say I'm quite liking it!
I've never tried a foundation serum, or anything remotely similar product wise, so it was all new to me and I didn't know what to expect!

  • Full size product RRP £18.
  • The Z1 Foundation Serum is made with 100% natural, certified, organic ingredients (calming lavender oil, clary sage... etc).
  • It's said to be suitable for all skin types, which is great as having combination-oily skin, using an oil can sometimes be daunting
  • Has many different ways of using the serum.

1. Moisturiser
This product is so moisturising and hydrating to the skin, so it can be used before hand, prior to any makeup application as your moisturiser. Pop 2-3 drops onto your finger tips, mix together and remember to PAT on to the skin only! Rubbing oil based products onto our face can actually loosen the skin.

2. Add To Foundation
Adding a drop or two to your foundation, prevents your skin and pores from getting clogged and adds a glowing finish. This is how I chose to use it, as I wanted to add some luminosity to my foundation. I added 1-2 drops and mixed with my chosen foundation on a mixing plate. This made my foundation apply so smoothly and made it look even more flawless. The foundations I use are generally matte finishes, so adding this gave me a little glow within without looking too oily/greasy.

3. For Foundation Application

If you're not too keen on adding directly to your foundation, you can also add a few drops onto your makeup sponge or foundation brush before blending in your foundation. This will help the application as the foundation glides on smoothly and blends seamlessly.

It's extremely moisturising, hydrating and feels so luxurious on the skin. Mixing with foundation, gives a natural glowing finish that looks flawless which is perfect! Also foundation application feels a lot more smoother when either mixed or applied before hand as moisturiser.

The only con would be, as someone with combination-oily skin, although it's suitable for all skin types, towards the end of the day I have noticed getting a little more oiler, especially in the T-zone. But nothing greasy or unwearable, plus thats nothing a bit of powder can't do!

Overall, I did like this foundation serum. I believe it would probably suit someone more with a normal-dry skin type, but it still worked great for me with a little powder top up now and then!
