BIRCHBOX | JUNE 2016

So I was looking at comparisons of all the beauty subscription boxes that are available in the UK, as I think it's such a great way to discover new brands and products every month. After looking at so many blog reviews, eventually I went with Birchbox, as it seemed the best out of the lot.
Today I will be reviewing my first Birchbox and the products inside, so fingers crossed it will live up to its standards.
I'm so excited to test and try out the products in this months June box.
Can we just take a moment and look at the packaging?! So cute.

ABOUT BIRCHBOX SUBSCRIPTION:
  • The box is £10 + £2.95 p&p every month and you can also apply a student discount code for 25% off your first box. I think this is such a good price to receive a box with a variety of things monthly, considering if you're makeup obsessed like me, i spend quite a bit more than that monthly!
  • Once you have made an account, you can customise your own beauty profile, so each of your boxes are more suited to you (skin type, hair type, style etc.). This will hopefully ensure you receive your monthly box with products you'll love!
  • They also have a Birchbox points system, which is always a bonus! You can earn these from either buying products from the website, referring a friend, or simply reviewing the products you receive every month.

PRODUCTS:
Every box comes with a little booklet with all the product information and prices which is handy as half the time I look at packaging and am so oblivious to what it actually is!
So lets get onto the good bit... THE PRODUCTS!

1. Cynthia Rowley Beauty: Brightening Illuminator | RRP £19
I have to say, this is my favourite product out of the whole box! Even though its only a sample size, I absolutely love this. It has a velvety, liquid formula and glides onto the skin smoothly, giving a subtle shimmer finish. I'd definitely be using this as a base, underneath my powder highlight! Can't wait to test this out properly to see how it wears on the skin.

2. Percy & Reed: Reassuringly Firm Session Hold Hairspray | RRP £12
Usually I wouldn't be so happy about receiving hairspray, but at the moment I have been experimenting more with hairstyles and currently own no hairspray, so this was perfect! Can't wait to see what its about, although I doubt once this sample has finished, I will be spending £12 on hairspray, but its always great to test out new products!

3. Absolution: Le Nettoyant Purete | RRP £26
So at first when I saw this, I had absolutely no idea what it was, thank god for the booklet I realised it was a gel face cleanser. This product is made with natural ingredients like chamomile, oats. The booklet says that it removed dirt and grime while reducing redness and irritation, which is exactly what I need! Recently my skin has been horrible, so I'm glad the box included some skincare products. The product has a very strong smell to it, which is the chamomile, but I think it smells lovely and i'll be sure to include this in my skincare routine to test it out!

4. Monu Professional Skincare: MONUSpa Enriched Body Cream | RRP £24
Reading from the booklet this body cream has orange, lemon, geranium and rose oils to help hydrate and is packed with vitamins and cocoa butter. Literally all the ingredients sound amazing, and after massaging a little blob onto my hand, it felt amazing. Not greasy at all, and sunk into the skin nicely.

5. Ainy: Pure Lumiere Gommage Purete Eclat Visage | RRP £25
I was so happy to realise this was a face scrub! I absolutely love exfoliating, so I can't wait to use this tonight. It's a 'gentle' face scrub which turns into a nourishing milk when in contact with water. You can't tell from the photos, but it has a slight gold shimmer in the product too, leaving your skin radiant. I'll definitely be using this a lot!

6. Mirenesse: Glossy Kiss in Starlet | RRP £17.50
So this was the last product in the box and wasn't actually a part of June's box, it was an extra gift using a coupon code, which is lovely! When I first opened this lipstick/cheek stain, i'll be honest, first impressions I thought I wouldn't like it, as I am very picky with my lipsticks, but after swatching it, I was pleasantly surprised! It's very buttery, not too glossy and I absolutely love the colour. It's a slight brown/red with a metallic shimmer and as a bonus, it was a full size product! I think i'll definitely have to include this product in my makeup looks.

Overall, I'm really happy with all the products in June's Birchbox, and I already can't wait to receive July's!

I hope you have enjoyed today's blog post,
