SLAY ALL DAY SETTING SPRAY? REVIEW & THOUGHTS

I absolutely love Gerard Cosmetic's products, especially their liquid lippies. So after seeing this around Instagram here and there and browsing on the Beauty Bay website, I ended up giving in and buying their Slay All Day Setting Spray! I thought i'd do a quick blog post with my thoughts and review on this setting spray as after searching, I never really found much about it and if I did, it was nothing but good reviews, so I wanted to share my honest opinion with you guys, what I liked and what I didn't like about the product. LAST MINUTE CHRISTMAS STOCKING FILLER IDEAS | BEAUTY

It's only bloody 4 sleeps until Christmas... AHHHH where has the time gone? So I thought i'd do a last minute (yes, very last minute guys) blog post featuring some great product ideas for stocking fillers or if you like gifts! I'm not planning on doing one for guys, as they're bloody hard to buy for I swear! But, if you're a guy and you don't receive a Lynx set, then do your parents even like you?... I'm joking, but seriously, I don't know one guy that hasn't received a Lynx set at Christmas.

AUMTUMN WINTER LIPSTICK PICKS

Now that it's pretty much Winter and Autumn has just passed (MY FAVE SEASONS), we can all rock the warm shadows, darker lippies, fluffy socks & big coats. Autumn/Winter are my absolute favourite seasons, just because of the colours and especially the warm tones, just literally ME all over. As you can see from the photo above, I got a little creative and decided to go wandering in my garden for perfect those autumnal leaves #bloggerprops, hope you like it!

GLOSSYBOX | NOVEMBER 2016

I can't believe it... we're here, in December already?! My 21st birthday is in 2 days YAY and Christmas is just around the corner, how crazy! Anyways, so November's Glossybox blog post is here and I was quite happy with this month's box if i'm honest, although I saw that a lot of people weren't too keen on social media. I think the contents of the box were pretty well matched to my liking, and I know i'll get plenty of use out of most of the products, if not all of them. This is only my second subscription box with Glossybox, but i'm actually pleasantly surprised and being honest, i'm so glad I made the change from Birchbox!

KYLIE COSMETICS BURGUNDY PALETTE, IS IT WORTH IT?

Ahhh, i'm honestly so excited for this blog post revolving around this gorgeous palette! I know this palette is ALL OVER Instagram and Youtube, but I thought i'd do a blog post, sort of review anyways and share my thoughts. Kylie Jenner seems to be adding new products every month or so to her cosmetic line and it's definitely hurting peoples bank balances, like seriously. Just yesterday she revealed on Snapchat her holiday collection (if you haven't seen it, I suggest you get on that sh*t quick) which looks absolutely incredible and includes ANOTHER Kyshadow palette, help me please *cries*.  

Last month another Kyshadow palette was added to Kylie Cosmetics, and after taking a miss on the first palette, just because it costs a limb, hearing mixed reviews and then seeing some amazing swatches on her Snapchat I HAD to get my hands on this. I was lucky enough that my boyfriend is the biggest babe and bought me the palette as an early birthday pressie, thanks babe! 

So, lets talk about prices because thats pretty much the first thing I want to know when I see a product I NEED, well want but you know. The palette itself cost $42 and shipping to the UK was $14.95. Obviously when ordering from the US, it's always a risk whether you will be hit with the dreaded custom charges... unfortunately I was *sad face* FIFTEN BLOODY POUNDS it was, like why? Royal Mail, Why do you do this? Luckily my babe of a boyfriend offered to pay the customs along with "This sh*t is expensive".

DR PAW PAW MULTIPURPOSE SOOTHING BALMS | REVIEW

Hi lovelies, today's blog post is on these incredible multipurpose balms that will are super nifty! A couple weeks ago, I received four of the Dr Paw Paw Multipurpose Soothing Balms* in the post which they kindly sent me and i've been using them everyday since! Personally, I had never tried any of their balms or products, but heard so many good things about them from others I know and on especially on Instagram.

AUTUMN/WINTER WISHLIST | MISSGUIDED♡

I know I haven't been as active on blogging recently and I'm so so sorry my loves! I promise I'll get back into the swing of things soon, I have quite a few posts that are nearly finished, so they will go up this week and next week. But, as it's Autumn, basically Winter here in the UK, keeping warm is everything and I mean, looking good at the same time can also work! I thought i'd put together all the bits that are currently on my wishlist or that I LOVE from Missguided. I honestly can't fault them, everythings affordable and great quality and they usually have really good student discounts going on weekly (20-30% off), so keep an eye out!

MOLLY COSMETICS LIQUID LIPSTICKS

So, if you follow me on the Gram (@katherinem_x) you would have seen these liquid lippies on quite a few of my posts recently, i'm sorry, they're just so damn good. A couple of weeks ago I received a package with four liquid lipsticks Molly Cosmetics kindly sent to me including Rose Gold, Bare Soul, Bubble Tea & Cupcake*. I'm a massive liquid lipstick hoarder, so receiving these in the post got me super EXCITED as I always love to try new lippies!

So... this is very new to my blog and if you read my October Birchbox post, you would know that I decided to take the plunge and cancel my subscription and try out GlossyBox! I decided to change after I came across the Glossybox's Instagram. I decided to have a peak, you know, to see what other boxes are offering and I clearly liked what I saw, plus I hadn't found Birchbox to be all that great so I thought it was time. When I first wanted to subscribe to a monthly beauty box, I did go back and forth between Birchbox and Glossybox and it was a very hard decision to make... so here I am now, trying out Glossybox!

BEAUTY PRODUCTS I REGRET BUYING

Ever bought something, have high expectations and end up being extremely disappointed? Yep, I think it's bound to happen with everyone at least at some point. So, I thought i'd do a blog post on some beauty products I regret buying myself, because I love reading or watching YouTube videos of these, as I like to see what others found disappointing! It really helps especially when i've been eyeing up a product for ages but i'm not 100% sure, so I love to know what others think of it.

PAWSOMEBOX REVIEW | OCTOBER 2016

Hey lovelies! So today's blog post is a little different from the usual beauty posts. This month, Darwin and I collab'd with Pawsome Box to review one of their monthly Pawsome subscription boxes (how exciting?!). 

Pawsome Box is a monthly subscription, containing surprise items worth over £30, designed for your fur babies! So just like how we have beauty subscriptions... but for dogs! Each box contains 6 items of variety from accessories & hygiene to toys and treats, also they are personalised to match your dog the best! You can either sign up and subscribe as a monthly subscription for £19.90 or you can buy a one of box as a gift. They also have Purrfect Box, which is for cats of course!

Each monthly box is usually dispatched between the 10th-15th and takes around a week to arrived in the UK as it's shipped from Germany. All the items are wrapped nicely in a cute little box which you can see below and wrapped nicely with paw printed tissue paper (so cute)!

QUICK DRY BRUSH CLEANING FT. BEAUTY ESSENTIALS

Put your hands up if you've ever been a victim of the horrid brush cleaning.. I know I have and I HATE doing it, I hope you can all agree with me! Your hands start to look like prunes, your wrist hurts from all that deep cleansing and your just drained by the end of it, but of course you do feel pretty good you've got that time consuming chore out of the way and finally have pretty, clean brushes ready for use again BUT thats besides the point. So when the lovely guys over at Dee&Co contacted me asking if I wanted to review their SHADOW SWITCH dry brush cleaner from Beauty Essentials, I had to say yes! Anything that will help a girl out and make life SO much easier!

BIRCHBOX | OCTOBER 2016

Today is a sad day. Unfortunately, I have taken the plunge and this will be my last Birchbox post as I have officially cancelled my subscription... I may re-subscribe in the future, you never know! I love having a monthly beauty subscription, because it's something to look forward to and great to discover new brands and new products and after some thought, I decided to be a traitor and switch over to Glossybox, sorry Birchbox!!! I've never tried it before until this month, but heard many good things. So it's a goodbye to Birchbox for now...

MAKEUP STORAGE FT. HERCLUTTERBOX

When you're completely and utterly obsessed with makeup, you end up with makeup all over the place, mess EVERYWHERE, so investing in some good ol' storage is definitely worth it! Plus it's nice to have your makeup collection all organised and looking pretty on display. For me, my makeup storage needs to be something convenient, that doesn't take up the whole room. I would LOVE to have a beauty station/room but mine isn't big enough so this will do!

HerClutterBox very kindly sent me the 'Spinning Lipstick & Powder Tower' acrylic storage which is one of their new products and retails for £80.11/ €88.99/ $97.63. They also have so many different models of storage from nail varnish racks to acrylic drawers, which all look incredible. What makeup lover doesn't love new brushes to add to their collection? I can finally put my hands up and say I have enough makeup brushes to supply Europe, not that it's a bad thing... My makeup addiction turned into a brush addiction quite some time ago, and i'm over flowing, like literally. It's just like the excitement of buying new makeup, but for brushes, although cleaning them i'm not fond of, but who is?! 

HAUL | SEPTEMBER 2016

So guys, it's mid October... like what, already?! It's crazy how quick the year has gone, meaning Christmas is only round the corner and my 21st birthday woo! Also, I feel like I can finally wear chunky knits and cute booties, as it's gotten so bloody cold, not complaining though... it's my favourite season! 

As you may know, I like to do monthly hauls as these are one of my most popular posts and do so well! I just want to apologise that I haven't been posting as much recently and that this is going up late this month. It's been a crazy couple weeks as i've just gone back to uni and it's already been manic so I haven't had much time to sit down and blog, but I will definitely make time now the first couple of weeks are done and dusted, sorry guys!

NEW IN BEAUTY | TECHNIC COSMETICS

Technic is one of those brands I used to use back in the day, especially when I started getting into makeup years and years ago. They're extremely affordable, great quality for what you pay for and have a massive variety of products to choose from! I do still use one Technic product to this day which is the Technic High Lights, an AMAZING dupe for the Benefit's High Beam liquid highlighter, they're literally the same, you all need it in your collection!

EYESHADOW PALETTE PICKS | AUTUMN MAKEUP

So, it's officially Autumn, well it started last month... BUT YA KNOW. I mean it's officially Autumn in the aspect where it's now acceptable to start wearing cute jumpers, chunky scarfs and getting those booties out. Autumn/winter has to be my favourite season for makeup. The warm browns and orange tones are just 'me' and I like to wear these sort of looks all year round to be honest!

BIRCHBOX | SEPTEMBER 2016

Hey lovelies! Back again with my monthly Birchbox blog post. This month, I was quite happy with the Birchbox subscription. If you read my blog post on last month's box, (if not you can go read it here if you like) you would know how disappointed I was with all the samples. I just wasn't impressed at all and I didn't feel it was even worth the £12 or however much it is a month! However, this month's samples were SO much better and I actually feel that I will have much more use out of these samples than last months. 

LILY AND ROSE JEWELLERY

Jewellery has always been a massive accessory for me. I literally wear the most boring outfits, jeans and a top and of course all black! I may add a little colour here and there, but those that know me, know that's super rare. So I always like to add jewellery to make my outfit, just that little bit better!

ROSE GOLD SOFT GLAM MAKEUP

Hi lovelies, i'm back with another makeup look, I did say I would do these more often so I hope you're liking them! If you follow me on Instagram (@katherinem_x Go follow me if you want, i'll love you forever haha!) you may have seen I posted this look a couple weeks ago and that I also did this makeup on my brothers girlfriend Leanne! I find that it really compliments brown eyes and I absolutely love anything rose gold, so i'm living for this look.

BPERFECT SEMI PERMANENT EYEBROW KIT | REVIEW

Lets be honest, eyebrows are extremely important in life, well for me they are! They help frame the face, and in general I think they look so much better when defined. I started filling in my brows around 5 years ago and of course I went through that sharpie, slug brow stage, I'm sure everyone has.. I hope?! I've tried all sorts of different brow products, from powders, pencils to pomades to gels and some have worked better than others for me. I have quite sparse, thin brows, so I love using products that will help me achieve that fuller, bushier, Cara Delevingne look!

MOVING TO UNIVERSITY & CHECKLIST

It's officially September, which means if you got into university (well done!!!), it's the month you may be moving away from home, or from what I have seen, some moved this weekend just gone! 

After completing my first year at uni, a couple of months of my second, then transferring universities and taking a gap year (long story), i'm FINALLY going back to uni in a month's time and i'm so excited! It's possibly felt like the longest wait, but at the same time it has come around quick. I won't be a fresher, but after experiencing the whole 'moving away from home & halls' thing, I thought it would be good for me to do a little write up on some advice for moving to university and a little checklist for ya!

SENSUALS BEAUTY SERUMS | REVIEW

Last month I was contacted by Sensuals Beauty for a chance to try out their Beauty Serums* from their range, so of course I had to take this opportunity. I literally said yes instantly as I'm all for trying out Argan Oils, I love the smell! and especially trying out something new for my hair! I've used a couple Argan oil samples before and loved them as they leave my hair feeling soft and amazing, so I was excited to try Sensuals products. 

#BLOGGERSFESTIVAL 2016 | SCARLETT LONDON EVENTS

Saturday September 3rd, I attended my first ever blogger event in London! It was hosted by the lovely Scarlett London Events called #BloggersFestival. As this was my first event, I was so nervous and didn't really know what to expect until I got there but it was such a nice day. 

I started off the day meeting up with some other lovely bloggers Ellie, Katie & Sarah (Follow them on Insta @makeupbyelv @katieha11 @sarahdavies__) in Oxford St. where we actually went to meet Nikkie Tutorials at Debenhams for her new launch with TooFaced, it was fate she was there the same day, so we had to! It was completely SURREAL. She's one of my favourite YouTubers and to meet her in the flesh felt like a dream, so annoyed I look like an egg in our photo though lol! Anyways, fan girl moment over and back to this post. Then we did a little bit of shopping, because who can't when you're in London?! and after, we then made our way to the event!

The event was held at the Conrad Hotel in St.James. It was absolutely beautiful, everything you think a luxury hotel would be; classic, amazing interior, a load of posh people lol & afternoon tea. We went down the most beautiful, spiralled stairs to enter the event. On arrival we could grab some drinks and there were tables with pic & mix, and there was the most beautiful Kim K inspired white rose wall for photographs, it was such a nice touch! 

There were quite a few brands there set up with their own stalls which we could go have a wander about, explore and chat to the brands more about their products. 

A couple of the brands there I had already heard about, but most of them were completely brand new to my eyes, which was great as I love discovering new brands and trying new products, so I was all for it!

Jewellery Box are a brand I have previously seen on Instagram and have the cutest, dainty jewellery pieces. I saw that they were at the #BloggersFestival last year so I was so happy to see them back again this year I was going, and can we talk about their stall? Omg cute!

BIRCHBOX | AUGUST 2016

Hey lovelies, happy Friday! Hope you're ready for the bank holiday weekend.

I'm back again with this month's Birchbox blog post. I'll be honest... I was pretty disappointed with this month's subscription. I know this is only my third month being subscribed to Birchbox, but it has been my least favourite yet! I didn't hate everything in the bag, nor was I absolutely obsessed with everything, which is expected, but this month's products just didn't live up to my other boxes products and I've seen quite the few people on social media who were disappointed too and even quit their subscriptions!!!

SULTRY SMOKEY EYE

So, i'm back again with another makeup look. If you have read my recent blog post on 'Bronzed and Glowy Makeup' and if you haven't, quickly take a visit here, I mentioned I wanted to feature more makeup looks on my blog, which I have been seriously lacking at recently. I've got quite a few makeup looks in mind, so stay put! 

I  absolutely love warm toned eyeshadows, so I thought i'd create this warm, smoked out eye look and I must say, I really love how it turned out. I don't usually wear dark smokey eyes as often as I would want, as I believe with having brown eyes, I would just look like a goth (lol), but I think this look worked really well and I'll definitely be wearing this look more often!
